What's nano-hydroxyappetite?
Nano-hydroxyapatite is a tiny, powerful form of hydroxyapatite—the main mineral that makes up 97% of your tooth enamel. In its nano size, n-HAp can fill in microscopic cracks, naturally repair enamel, and reduce sensitivity, helping keep your teeth strong and healthy!
What % of nano-hydroxyapatite do you use? Is it 10%? Is it effective?
TL;DR: Fizzy Mouthwash contains 1% nano-hydroxyapatite. Mouthwash is swished in much larger volumes than toothpaste is brushed with, a 10% concentration would actually be unsafe if swallowed and would feel gritty or chalky. With 1%, users still get ~7–14 mg of nHA per swish, similar to a pea-sized amount of 10% toothpaste while keeping the experience safe, smooth, and effective.
✅ Different purpose = different standard
The 10% standard you may have seen applies to toothpaste, not mouthwash. Toothpaste stays on your teeth for several minutes while mouthwash is meant for a quick swish. It's a supplement to brushing and designed for lower-dose but more frequent use.
Fizzy delivers 1% in concentrate, which becomes 0.05–0.1% after dilution. Each swish delivers 7–13 mg of n-HAp, similar to the 25 mg you’d get from brushing with a 10% toothpaste.
🛡️Safety
Mouthwash is easier to swallow by accident since you brush with a pea-sized toothpaste but swish with 3-4 teaspoons of mouthwash. That’s why the European SCCS recommends keeping n-HAp in mouthwash below ~0.5% and 10% for toothpaste.
🔬 Efficacy
Studies show even 0.01%-0.05% n-HAp in mouthwash can reduce sensitivity and coat the teeth. Per Menezes-Silva et al. (2022), a mouthwash with 0.0125% nano-hydroxyapatite was able to form a protective mineral layer and significantly occlude dentin tubules after two weeks of daily use.

💧 Better user experience
Nano-hydroxyapatite doesn’t dissolve in water. At 10%, it would clump, settle, and feel gritty or chalky. That’s not pleasant or practical in a liquid rinse. Using 1% helps keep the mouthwash smooth and easy to use.
Is the Mouthwash Concentrated actually fizzy?
No it's not! Fizzy is just our brand name because we wanted to make oral care a bit more fun. The mouthwash itself is smooth and gentle—no bubbles, no burn, just a clean, refreshing swish.
Does it contain mint or menthol? Which flavors are menthol free?
Only our Mint and Mint Chocolate flavors contain mint/menthol. All other flavors are 100% mint- and menthol-free.
